Advisory Board Crystals (or Abc. for short) began in 2015 when two strangers met in the back of an Uber Pool car in Los Angeles. Heather was minding her own business, staring out the window. Remington didn’t want to engage either. We were both antisocial — classic. But in just under seven minutes, something clicked. A shared history with Band of Outsiders sparked a conversation, and by the end of the night, after a chance second encounter at the Ace Hotel and a well-placed DM, our story had begun.
Our first date? A crystal shop. Remington gifted Heather a lepidolite — known for its calming, mood-stabilizing energy — and from that moment on, we knew crystals would play a bigger role in our lives, not just as symbols of meaning and connection but as building blocks of something larger: a world we wanted to create together.
Abc. was never just about fashion. It was — and still is — about thinking critically, expressing ourselves honestly, and offering something deeper. We wanted to take the esoteric and make it accessible. To make crystals cool again — but authentically. Not as a trend but as tools for energy, creativity, self-awareness, and style.
In our early days, we hand-dyed T-shirts to mimic the colors of rose quartz in our Silver Lake apartment. Our living room was our studio. Our hardware store was our supplier. We built everything from the ground up — from hologram labels to our “crystal advisory hotline” (still hidden in our garments, if you know where to look). We packed orders in science-lab-style pouches, not just because it looked great — but because every element should feel intentional, thoughtful, and functional.
As we evolved, so did the Abc. Universe. What began as one-off crystal drops and T-shirts grew into installations, collaborations, and full seasonal collections. We partnered with brands and people who shared our vision — Colette, Barney’s, KITH, Union LA, Slam Jam, and even Wikipedia and the NBA. We’ve made custom pieces for Migos, Lil Wayne, and Ai Weiwei. We’ve crafted crystal-infused jam, EMF-proof pant pockets, and garments you’ll never see again because they were only made once.
But through it all, our process remains the same: emotion meets intention. We design based on feeling — what’s happening inside us and around us. Every piece has meaning, even if it’s not always obvious. Our clothes can be taken at face value or peeled back in layers. We let the wearer decide how deep to go.
We’ve always believed in taking the slow path. The tortoise wins the race. We didn’t chase hype; we built a universe. A community of like minds. A space for those who see the world a little differently.
